Veneers are a very commonly performed procedure in dentistry today.
Veneers provide excellent aesthetic results with minimal loss of tooth structure.
They are used to correct and hide marks and inherent stains on teeth.
They correct minor irregularities and spaces between teeth.
Essentially they are made of two different materials, porcelain and composite resin (also referred to as “bonding”)
Porcelain has superior strength and aesthetics. It involves extra chair time and a visit to the ceramist to help match or fine tune the colour.
Composite/Bonding has a decreased lifespan due to wear of the cement holding them on to the tooth. They also stain more than porcelain will, especially due to differing dietary habits and smoking.
