Dr Penny Walker
Dr Penny Walker attended the University of Queensland graduating in 1999 with a Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours Class I. During her university years Penny was awarded multiple awards which include:
- The Dental Study Club Prize (1997)
- The Australian Dental Association Prize (1998)
- The Halas Dental Limited Prize (1999)
- The Pierre Fauchard Academy Annual Scholarship Award (1999)
- Dean’s commendation for High Achievement (1998/1999).
Penny’s academic performance during her university years established a foundation which realised the importance of continuing education which she maintains by attending lectures, seminars and hands-on training sessions in the various facets of dentistry. Penny enjoys providing quality general dentistry with a focus on prevention and patient education.
Following graduation Penny moved to the Gold Coast with her husband (Griff) and worked part time in private practice whilst also working at the University of Queensland and subsequently moved solely into private practice in Tweed Heads and Southport. In 2003 Penny and Griff moved to Southampton, United Kingdom where she worked fulltime and travelled extensively.
In 2005 they returned to Australia where Penny resumed her previous job in Southport. It has always been a dream of Penny’s to work and own a practice with her older brother, Peter. This came to fruition in August 2008 when they celebrated the opening of Teeth Suite Dental Surgery. It is very easy working with someone when you have the same priorities with the main objective being to provide a very high standard of dental care to the community.
Penny works part time with the remainder of her time being focused on her son, Angus and daughter, Zahra. Penny, Griff, Angus and Zahra love spending time with their family and friends and try to feed the travel bug as much as possible.
